4. Use Existing Hashtags Where You Can
While it may seem like a good idea at the time, it’s almost impossible to get a hashtag to stick or trend unless you’re someone as big as Lady Gaga; so don’t even bother to try.
Keep an eye out for what’s trending already and see if you can link any of your wares into that.
Alternatively, make use of other hashtags you know are popular in your industry or Twitterati.
Failing that, make a unique one up yourself, but leave that as a last resort unless you’re promoting something incredibly specific like an event.
